Day 9 (22/09, Wed)

HAPPY MID-AUTUMN FESTIVAL!!!
Yes! It’s Mid-Autumn Festival, 中秋节 today and it falls on the 15th day of the 8th month on the Chinese calendar.
In China, it is a 3 DAY PUBLIC HOLIDAY for them, BUT NOT FOR US. BOO HOO!!! :(
We had classes for the whole day in a quiet campus as most students of WUST have gone back to their hometown to celebrate this festive season with their family.
Putting the festival aside, now comes the weather report for today:
SUPER COLD!!! BBBRRRRRRRRRRRRRR!!!
The weather here changed drastically from hot to cold in less than 24 hours. Adding to the already cold weather, it rained the whole day today. The temperature even reached 17˚C today!
During PM class today, we were given an assignment to do that has to be completed by tomorrow. It is a good thing that I have such EFFICIENT GROUP MATES and we gathered together today to discuss on our assignment. Therefore, we are free tomorrow!!!
Us diligently doing our assignment so that we can be free tomorrow! :)
We had dinner at a new eatery today! It’s a noodle shop that is located a few shop away from 柠檬乐餐厅. The food was not bad. Check it out!
Our Hot Pot of Noodles!

Dinner Buddies!

We also had a little Mid-Autumn celebration among ourselves after dinner. Even though we didn’t get to celebrate it with our families this year, celebrating it with the OIP mates is a fun and enjoyable experience.

WAH! What a spread!
Mr Chia cutting the mooncake for us. THANK YOU!

We do not have classes today as Mr Chia has kindly cancelled the class for tomorrow so that we have time to do our PM assignment as we have a 3 days 2 nights cruise trip from Friday to Sunday. YES!! CRUISE TRIP! As our group has completed our tasks, this means that WE ARE FREE TOMORROW! Good night everyone!
REFLECTION
Even though we in Singapore and the people in China celebrate Mid-Autumn Festival, we celebrate it rather differently as compared to them. For example, while we enjoyed carrying lanterns when we were young during this day, the people in China have never heard of this practice. We play with candles back in Singapore; but the people here do not.
In conclusion, even though people from all over the world do celebrate the same festivals, there is never 2 or more countries which celebrate it the same way.
